Tomy’s “Healing Partner” doll may not be that cute, and isn’t covered in bloody wounds, but it follows the Japanese tradition of something which looks benign being a little menacing. The Healing Partner doll shadow sleeps with you- so using six sensors it goes to sleep when you do, and stays awake ungodly hours when you do. And then it lets you know what it thinks about your joint sleeping pattern by singing sweetly when it’s well-rested, or hurling abuse when you’ve been out all night, leaving it alone and shaking with fury, filled with robo-psychotic thoughts.

Since Healing Partner already looks like it’s suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder after a few tours of duty at war, you probably need to kick it out of bed before going on a sleepless weekend bender.

OOOHHHHHH…wondder when this will become affordable for the rest of us plebs.

Came across this nu-metal band Dizzy Butterfly 旋轉蝴蝶 while surfing. The ead singer and rapper is 小天 (formerly of 潑猴 Insane Monkey) and other members have also been with other bands or performed with some big names in taiwan. Caught some of their live performance on youtube as well, the music seems good (video and sound quality wasn’t). and damn, they have outerspacexlionhaunt tees too!

Looks like this is another up and coming taiwanese band to look out for (hopefully)!

smsed an old friend today to wish her happy birthday. she’s been having a rough time this past year, going thru a divorce and winding up her business. i asked her if she planned to do anything new after all this is over, her reply to me was “too old to do so by now”.

perhaps it’s just been too rough a patch for her, but it makes me thank the heavens that i met a bunch of people in 1999, 2001, 2002 and 2004, who, even though i was waaaayy over-aged, made me believe i could do it. and i did it last year, at the ripe old age of 35.

Consultants have even coined a name for this new breed of entitled worker: they call them millennials.

The millenials are appearing in Asia as well, particularly in China, where the little emperors and empresses produced by the one-child policy are all grown up and entering the work force. Sounds like such a familiar situation I used to face a few years back and what eric is always shouting about haha. and the worst part is, some of these so-called millenials don’t even have some sort of talent to offer, just know how to whine. So how?
